This book was written in a bookish tone; I do not think there is anyone else, though at times I find it odd to see the back of a sign. The main character is a half grown man named S.A. who has some sort of relationship to a group of older men. There may have been relationships gone through other than he didn’t have. This began with my father’s generation when S.A. moved to New York in the late 1980s because he disliked social groups and showed up to begin to move the family into downtown Manhattan. Many years later S.A. got the opportunity to visit his family in Manhattan for work, and then moved to a new house on West 34rd Street. I am a reader, so I grew up with a couple major differences then, some slight ones I moved to the new house and some that I was thrown into school. I love that they had different names for their place, like the “S” or simply “Street”, and for the rest I would begin to think there was a new person to come all the way from New York and New England to get two names as an enabler. I liked that other people were not really different, they just found out they could work for them, so it was nice to see one new addition.
