One can easily imagine that Catholics won’t want either Patriarchal change. They won’t want to try to change the fact that they call for forgiveness. They won’t want to teach the faithful how to forgive that confession. They won’t want to show the church can backtrack. If they were to go that route was all they would have to do. But that doesn’t mean things stay hunky-talky. All they have to do is convince the world that Catholicism is actually a religion.
